Bank of England on the way to lowest rates ever
Posted on 04 December 2008 by Madnesz
The Bank of England cut it’s rates today with 100 basis points, lowering from 3.00% to 2.00%. The rate cut is as expected by analysts, but can still be called remarkable. Since the foundation of the central bank in 1694, the interest rate has never reached a level below 2%. Analysts expect the Bank to cut rates even further in the near feature, which will mean the lowest rates in over 300 years!
